Hand Built Vase
Five pieces of extruded clay joined to be a solid single structure. Shaping and seaming requires an ideal state of dryness. Finished pieces are popular for desktop organizers, bud vase or artwork.
Landscape Plates
Each plate is unique with designs created during the glazing process. When a plate receives the initial glaze coverage, the overlapping glaze coating creates a landscape. With each application, tipping the plate gathers excess to one side while tipping back creates the distinct drips.
Raku Ghost Vases
One of my favorite Raku glazes provides a unique surprise with each firing. Applied with a thin coating, this glaze reacts with the swirling flames within the reduction environment that is part of the Raku post firing process. The high copper concentration in the glaze produces the multiple hues.
